Synopsis: Part 1 of a triptych;a representation of an homage to John Balance via a celebration through light and shadow of the infamous poem "Hymn to Pan" by Aleister Crowley; "Dip the purple of passionate prayer in the crimson shrine, the scarlet snare, The soul that startles in eyes of blue…." This film is part of a tryptich entitled "Black Mesh"
Hymn To Pan: Francois Miron’s experimental short is not for fans of mainstream cinema. It’s at once loud, brash and fascinating – think one of Warhol’s factory films on speed. CHRIS ATCHISON/Metro Toronto
